2 NEW WINNERS FOR THE SILAB - JEAN PAUFIQUE CORPORATE FOUNDATION

This year, the SILAB - Jean PAUFIQUE Corporate Foundation has decided to support two young researchers in the field of skin pathologies: Mélissa Chapeau and Rebeca González Guerrero.

On June 27, the Foundation's 16th annual meeting was held at SILAB, bringing together members of the Scientific Council, former prizewinners and company employees.

It was an opportunity to discover the research projects of the two new prizewinners.

Mélissa Chapeau presented her project entitled "Characterization of fibroblast reprogramming in the lymph node niche by cutaneous melanoma". Conducted within the Mediterranean center of Molecular Medicine (C3M) in Nice under the supervision of Dr Virgine Prod'homme, the aim of this work is to gain a better understanding of the early metastatic processes of melanoma. Ultimately, it aims to enhance current therapies and delay or even prevent relapse.

Rebeca González Guerrero is working on a project entitled "Identifying and targeting the events responsible for altered immunogenicity in melanoma resistant to targeted therapies", also being carried out at the Mediterranean center of Molecular Medicine (C3M) in Nice. Under the direction of Dr. Ballotti, this work aims to identify the epigenetic changes responsible for resistance to the immune system and immunotherapies. The aim is to identify new therapeutic targets whose inhibition could prevent or reverse this resistance, and ultimately improve patient survival.

The 2 previous winners from 2022 and 2023 also presented the progress of their research work.

The SILAB - Jean PAUFIQUE Corporate Foundation is proud to support these promising young researchers' projects every year.
